Poetry #472
(published February 4, 2010)
Seizure
by Chris Butler
She's been seized
by these seizures,
after overexposure to
strobes shining
epileptic suns,
causing her to
swallow swollen
tongues and flush
clenched colons,
as she shivers
despite her fever,
drenching her
pruned flesh in
freezing sweats,
until she's
suffocated
under the
fuming stench
of burning hair.

Chris Butler is a twenty-something nobody shouting from the Quiet Corner of Connecticut.
