Poetry #460
(published November 12, 2009)
Summer Camp
by Jonathan Hayes
Run thru the fields
Knee-high grass

Chopped down to a path

That butterfly
Near your net

And the baseball diamond
Down by the lake

Snapping turtles
Under the floating docks

I hope you know how
To pull your canoe up

When it sinks below

The lake
