Poetry #387
(published June 19, 2008)
Written
by Victoria Clayton Munn
I can't believe you erased me
The thought that escaped from inside
Typing me, black on white, cursor flashing
Keys tapping out a rhythm
Syncopated clicking

Did I reveal too much?
Couldn't you stand the truth?
Did I make you cry?

I'm still there, inscribed
Written on folds of grey
You can't wipe clean your memory
I'll be there waiting, hiding, buried
Dreams will set me free
